Mumbai: Malayalam actress and social media influencer Pragya Nagra has responded to the circulation of an alleged private video, asserting that it was AI-generated.

Addressing the controversy on her official social media account, she expressed gratitude to those supporting her during this challenging time and urged caution in the misuse of AI technology.

The video, reportedly depicting the actress in a compromising position, went viral on social media, with some users claiming it was authentic.

Pragya clarified, stating:”Still in denial, and still hoping that it’s just a bad dream that I will wake up from. Technology was meant to help us, not make our lives miserable. I can only pity the evil minds who misuse it to create such AI content and those who help spread it! Trying to stay strong through all of this, and grateful to all the people who are there for me in these moments. I hope and pray that no other woman has to go through such an ordeal, and that all of you stay safe!”

The source of the video remains unknown, and no police action has been reported so far.Pragya Nagra made her South Indian cinema debut with the Tamil film Varalaru Mukkiyam in 2022, playing the role of a Malayali girl opposite Jiiva.

Despite the film receiving negative reviews, her performance was appreciated by the audience. Before venturing into films, Pragya appeared in hundreds of commercials and has since established a strong social media presence, boasting over 1.1 million followers on Instagram.
