PM Modi At NHRC Foundation Day; ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ To Ensure Human Rights For All

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Justice Arun Kumar Mishra (Chairperson of NHRC India) also attended the event

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 28th National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) foundation day program on Tuesday.

In his address, PM Modi said that India works on the basic principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ ensuring human rights for all.

“Nation is going ahead with ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’. In a way, it also works on the basic principle of ensuring human rights for all. If Govt starts a scheme & it benefits only a few, it’ll raise the issue of rights,” Modi said.

“That is why we are going ahead with the goal of ensuring that everyone gets the benefits of all schemes,” he added.

PM Modi also said that human rights are not only about rights but also duties. “Human rights should not be only about rights, but also duties. The two should be discussed together, not separately. Other than awareness of their rights, each individual must abide by their duties,” PM Modi.

Mosi further added, “Some people see human rights violations in some incidents but not in other similar incidents. Human rights are violated when viewed via political spectacles. Selective behaviour is harmful to democracy. They attempt to harm the nation’s image through selective behaviour.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Justice Arun Kumar Mishra (Chairperson of NHRC India) also attended the event.
