PM Modi Attacks Congress For Insulting Voters Of India Over BJP’s Win

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the opposition party Congress for insulting the voters of the country by questioning the BJP’s massive victory in Lok Sabha elections.

Replying to the debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha, Modi attacked the Congress with, raising questions on people’s mandate, said the opposition party has put the voters in the dock.

“After such a huge mandate, you say that you (BJP) have won, but the country has lost …. If the Congress loses, what country does, the country lose. Does Congress mean the country and country means the Congress? That is Congress. There is a limit of arrogance,” Modi said.

Based on the arguments of the Congress Party, he thought that Congress victory in Wayanad and Rae Bareli seats was “the defeat of the country”.

“Because of the narrowness and prevalence of ideas, if some people do not accept the people’s mandate by saying that ‘you have won the elections, but the country has lost’, nothing more humiliating can be done for our democracy,” he said.

Given that Congress was not able to win a single Lok Sabha seat in 17 states, he said it was time for the introspection of the Congress and “obeying”.
