PM Modi To Meet Chinese President Xi Jinping SCO Summit

Mumbai: There will be an important meeting this week between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Bishkek, stated China.

Since the BJP’s spectacular win in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, it will be Modi’s first meeting with the Chinese counterpart. The two leaders are scheduled to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit scheduled to be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from 13-14 June.

Indian Ambassador to China, Vikram Misri last week reportedly said that the two leaders will meet on the occasion of the SCO summit. SCO is an eight-member economic and security led by China. India and Pakistan were admitted to the Grouping in 2017.

“It is worth mentioning that last year, our leaders met four times on the sidelines of different multi-lateral meetings,” he added.

On April 27-28, the Wuhan summit was credited between Modi and Shi, due to a largely 73-day dual standoff due to the deadlock, due to which Chinese soldiers attempted to make a road closer to the Indian border in one area done Bhutan in 2017. After the Wuhan Summit, the two countries forwarded efforts to improve relations on various sectors including military-to-military relations.

During a briefing on Monday, China’s deputy foreign minister Zhang Hanhui reportedly said, “Will they talk about trade between China and the US and the spectators of business friction between America and India, such things are surprising I believe that it can become an important topic in their bilateral meetings with their respective leaders.
