‘PM Narendra Modi’ Biopic To Release On 24 May 2019

Mumbai: Vivek Oberoi starrer PM Narendra Modi biopic got a new release date.

Earlier the film was banned by Election commission even without watching it. The later supreme court directed Ec to watch the movie and take their decision.

Election Commission officials on April 17 saw the film in a special screening on the directive of the Supreme Court. A committee of seven officers was constituted for screening.

Prior to the ban by the Election Commission, the film also came under a cloud with opposition parties, in which Congress claimed that it was planned to release with the intention of affecting voters during Lok Sabha elections.

After watching a special screening of the film, the Election Commission had presented a report before the apex court in favor of banning the release of ‘PM Narendra Modi’. After this, the Supreme Court refused to interfere with the Election Commission’s order.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted saying, “New release date for #PMNarendraModi… Will now release on 24 May 2019, after the Lok Sabha election results, according to a statement issued by the producers… Stars Vivek Anand Oberoi in the title role… Directed by Omung Kumar.”

Directed by Omung Kumar the film stars Vivek Oberoi, Zarina Wahab, and Barkha Bisht Sengupta.

The film is based on the life of Narendra Modi, 14th Prime Minister of India; Vivek Oberoi is in the lead role, also known as co-writer of the film. The first look of the movie was released in January 2019.

Earlier the film was scheduled to release on 5th April later it moved to 11th of April and finally, the film is all set to hit the silver screen on 24 May 2019 after Lok Sabha Election.
