PM Narendra Modi Launches ‘Atma Nirbhar UP Rojgar Abhiyan,’ Over 1.25 cr To Benefit

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched an “Atma Nirbhar Uttar Pradesh employment campaign” through video conferencing in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

 The program is expected to benefit about 1.25 crore migrant workers.

Speaking on the occasion, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the Prime Minister and thanked him for this initiative.

During the COVID-19 crisis, the way Prime Minister showed the country the direction and gave the message of  ‘Jaan Bhi aur Jahaan bhi” is highly commendable.

Following a similar direction, Uttar Pradesh is working for the welfare of its workers by giving them employment. The Chief Minister said, “This step has been taken under Prime Minister Modi’s dream of ‘Self-reliant India’. “

“More than 1.25 crore migrant workers who have lost their jobs due to the coronavirus epidemic are likely to benefit from this unique initiative. More than 35 lakh migrants returned to Uttar Pradesh and more than 30 lakh migrant workers also covered under skill mapping were done.”

The Center announced the Atma Nirbhar Bharat package to encourage various sectors. The Poor Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan was launched on 20 June to generate employment with an emphasis on creating infrastructure in backward regions of the country.

The Uttar Pradesh government envisaged an “Atma Nirbhay Uttar Pradesh Rojgar Abhiyan”, a unique initiative that launched central and state government programs in partnership with industry and other organizations.
