PM Narendra Modi To Begin Election Campaign From Assam

Mumbai : According to Bharatiya Janata Party spokesman Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a campaign for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Silchar from Barak Valley on Friday.

Earlier PM Modi, inaugurated India’s longest rail-cum-road, Bogibeel bridge last year. The campaign will be take place under 10 days which will be apart of first phase upcoming election, spokesperson added.

During his day-long visit to the North-East, Modi will go first to Manipur, where he will inaugurate and lay out various projects at a rally. Then, he is scheduled to address a rally at Kalinagar in Silchar area, said BJP state president Ranjit Das.

On the other hand BJP and it’s allies have set a target to win 21 out of the 25 parliamentary seats in eight states in the region.

Earlier the ruling party bagged Assam panchayet polls with 42 percent of total seats. Where as opposition party Congress was second with 34 per cent seats while regional party Asom Gana Parishad finished fourth, behind Independents who bagged 11 per cent of the seats.
