PM Narendra Modi To Interact With Farmers From 6 States, Rs 18K Crore Will Be Transferred To Beneficiaries Under PM-KISAN On Dec 25

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday will hold talks with farmers from six different states as part of an event to release the next installment of financial benefits under a central scheme. The Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday informed that the event will be held in real.

During the event, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will also be present.

According to the available details, PM will initiate the transfer of more than Rs 18,000 crore to more than nine crore beneficiary farmer families. The program is scheduled to begin at 12 noon and will be telecast live.

The event is being organized amidst the agitation of farmers against the newly-formulated farm laws. The movement on Delhi’s borders is now close to a month.

PM Narendra Modi will release the next installment of financial benefits under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kesan) through video conferencing on 25 December. The PMO said that more than 9 crore beneficiary farmer families would be able to transfer more than PM 18,000 crore.

“PM Modi will interact with farmers from six different states during the event. Farmers will share their experiences with PM-Kisan and will also work on various other initiatives taken by the government for the welfare of farmers,” it added.

Under this marvel of PM-KISAN scheme, income assistance of Rs 6,000 per year is being provided to all registered farmers across the country in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months.

During the Interim Union Budget for 2019 by Union Minister Piyush Goyal, the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will cost 75,000 crore rupees (the US $ 11 billion) per year.
