PMC Bank Crisis: EOW Arrests Two Auditors In Connection With Scam

Mumbai: In a recent development on the PMC Bank crisis, it has been reported that Economic Offences Wing (EOW) arrested two auditors in connection with the scam and will produce them in Court today seeking their police remand.

“Jayesh Dhirajlal Sanghani and Ketan Praveenchand Lakdawala were called to the office of the Economic Offenses Branch, Mumbai, during the investigation, their relationship with HDIL came to light and both were clear about their alleged role as statutory auditors. I could not clarify. PMC Bank, so both were arrested for further investigation, “read a press note from EOW.

“Both the accused will be produced tomorrow before ACMM Holiday Court, Esplanade, Mumbai for production in police custody. Further investigation of the accused persons is on.”

At the end of September, the RBI restricted the activities of PMC Bank for six months and asked it not to grant or renew any loans and advances, to make any investment or to incur any liability, Which included borrowers of funds and acceptance of new deposits.
