Political Crisis In Maharashtra Heading Towards Dissolution Of Vidhan Sabha: Sanjay Raut

Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Raut Wednesday, hinted at dissolving the Maharashtra Assembly. The statement comes amid the ongoing political crisis in the state since the declaration of the Legislative Council poll results on Monday.

“The ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra is heading to the dissolution of Vidhan Sabha,” he tweeted.

The BJP took a dig at the MVA government, saying Raut and his party were themselves responsible for the turmoil in the state’s politics.

Earlier today, Raut said that he is in discussions with Shinde and the talks are “positive”. He also said that Shinde has not put any condition before the party and talks are on with Shinde with other Shiv Sena leaders as well.

Raut expressed confidence that Shinde and other rebel MLAs would return to the party, adding that their “misunderstandings would be cleared”.

“It is difficult for him (Shinde) to leave the party and it will be difficult for us (Shiv Sena) to leave him. Our conversation continues. We talked for an hour in the morning. Talks are also going on with the MLAs who are with Shinde.

Eknath has claimed the support of 40 MLAs, including 33 from Sena and seven Independents. Reports suggest that the rebel lawmakers might seek a floor test. The BJP, meanwhile, remains on a ‘wait and watch mode, claiming that it has no involvement in the ongoing political crisis.
