Pragya Thakur Claims “Silly” To An Plea Filed Against Her For Not Contesting Elections

Mumbai: BJP Bhopal candidate, Pragya Singh Thakur filed her response as “frivolous” to the plea by the father of kin who died in 2008 Malegaon Terror blasts, the father sought to put her behind for contesting Lok Sabha elections.

Pragya Thakur is an accuse of 2008 Malegaon bomb blast, as her bike was used for bombardment, said that the plea was filed for “political motto” and “political stunt”.

“It is beyond for the intervener to fulfil to file an application and moreover without an affidavit in the support. However, the intervener being informed about the same still intentionally chosen to file this misconceived application for any extra motto and to gain publicity,” Thakur said on a response on the plea of Nisar Ahmed Sayyed Bilal.

“Under people’s act of 1951 had no provisions that state that a candidate cannot contest elections if any criminal case is pending before him/her,” Thakur before the NIA court.

She added saying, “Election Commission Of India orders every candidate to provide his/her criminal records during nomination submitted with affidavit. Moreover, there will be no halt for contesting elections with the pendency of the case. A person is innocent unless until he/she is proved to be convicted.”

“The application present deemed to stop or to force the respondent by afraid to insert the rights of respondent to compete in elections and one with politics in hand has extended to halt political parties for contesting elections”, Thakur said accusing Nishar’s application.

Thakur’s response came after a plea filed by Nisar Ahmed Sayyed Bilal whose son Sayyed Azhar died in the 2008 Malegaon terror blast for which Pragya Thakur is alleged. The father urged for putting a halt for Thakur with contesting in elections.

Whereas, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) said that the case depends on Election Commission Of India as there is no jurisdiction with NIA for the matter.

Pragya Thakur filed her nomination from BJP Bhopal parliamentary constituency where 3 supporters and her advocate followed her.

Pragya Thakur is among 7 seven whose case is in trial being accuse in 2008 Malegaon blast case that rooted death of 6 and injured dozen of people. The bomb was placed on a motorcycle that exploded on September 29 in Maharashtra.
