Pregnant Woman Abducted, Gangraped By 4 Men For 3 Days In UP

Mumbai: A two-month pregnant woman on Friday alleged she was abducted and gang-raped by four men over a period of three days in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district, police said.

However, when a police team reached the house where the woman was allegedly held captive, a woman claimed that the victim’s relatives had left her there in exchange for Rs 80,000.

Farrukhabad Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Meena said the woman alleged that the accused approached her at the Farrukhabad bus terminal and covered her face with a cloth laden with narcotics, which made her unconscious.

“The woman said that upon regaining consciousness, she found herself inside a room in a house. Four people sitting next to him raped her in turn. The SP said that he threatened to kill him if he protested.

“The woman also alleged that when she was in captivity, she was not given food to eat for three days,” he added.

Rajepur police station SHO Dinesh Gautam said the woman managed to escape on Friday morning when the four men were sleeping.

“She said she walked 12 km before reaching Bahadurpur village where she approached some villagers for help. The villagers in turn approached the police,” he said.

The SHO said that after the complaint, the woman was taken to the house where she was gang-raped.

A woman found in the house claimed a few relatives of the survivor had left her there in exchange for ₹80,000, he added.

“The Farrukhabad and Hardoi police have questioned the woman and a probe is underway,” the SP said.
