Mumbai: Remembering former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his first death anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ramnath Kovind paid tribute at BJP stalwart’s memorial, Sadaiv Atal, here on Friday.
“Remembering Atal Ji on his Punya Tithi. His thoughts and words live on. We will always cherish his contribution to India’s development,” Narendra Modi tweeted saying.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national working president JP Nadda were among the prominent leaders of the party who paid tributes to Vajpayee at his memorial.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was one of the greatest leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Vajpayee died last year on August 16 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after a prolonged illness. He was 93.
Vajpayee’s daughter Namita Kaul Bhattacharya and granddaughter Niharika were also present at the prayer meeting.
