Prime Minister Narendra Modi Urges Citizens To Follow ‘Janta Curfew’ On March 22

Mumbai: Amid coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to citizens to follow “Janta curfew” on March 22.

“I am seeking one more support from every countryman today. This is a public curfew. A public curfew means a public curfew imposed by the public on its own. Every citizen must follow Janta curfew on this Sunday, March 22, from 7 am to 9 pm,” Modi said in his address to the nation.

The PM Narendra Modi also requested senior citizens to stay indoors for the next few weeks.

“Social distancing is extremely important and effective in reducing the impact of coronavirus. All senior citizens in our family should not get out of houses. I request all people in the country to get out of the house only when it is extremely necessary, try and do all work from home,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that the world is going through a critical phase and civilians have strongly fought the novel coronavirus epidemic.

“The whole world is going through a very serious phase of crisis at this time. Generally, whenever a natural crisis comes, it is limited to a few countries or states. But this time this crisis is one which has caused the entire human race Has put it in crisis. Around the world in crisis, “Modi said.

Modi also said that no definitive solution has been found and no vaccine has yet been developed to combat coronavirus.

The total number of positive cases of COVID-19 in India is 167, including 25 foreigners. In a statement, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has reported four deaths (one each) in Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab and Maharashtra.
