Priyanka Gandhi Appointed As AICC General Secretary For Eastern UP
Mumbai: On Wednesday, Congress President Rahul Gandhi declared Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as AICC General Secretary for Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
On Priyanka’s entry into politics, Congress said that she will be taking all the responsibilities of the party from February first week.
Earlier, Priyanka only supported Rahul and Sonia Gandhi for the campaigning in Amethi and Raebareli parliamentary constituencies only.
Coincidentally, both Amethi and Raebareli are also a part of Uttar Pradesh East, the region of which Priyanka has been given charge as General Secretary.
Other than Priyanka, Congress has also nominated KC Venugopal as AICC General Secretary (Organisation), Jyotiraditya Scindia as AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh West and Ghulam Nazi as AICC General Secretary for Haryana.
In 2004 General Election Priyanka Gandhi was the campaign manager of Sonia Gandhi, wherein in 2007 she focused on the ten seats in the Amethi Raebareli region for her brother Rahul Gandhi. She even has a huge fan crowd in Amethi with a popular slogan in every election Amethi ka danka, bitiya Priyanka (the clarion call from Amethi is for Priyanka [to stand elections].
