Prostitution Racket Being Operated From Dombivli Lodge Busted, Four Woman Rescued

Thane: Five women have been rescued from a prostitution ring being operated from a lodge in the Dombivli area of ​​Maharashtra’s Thane district.

The Anti Human Trafficking Cell of Thane Police raided the lodge. So far, the police have arrested a total of six people in connection with the sex racket.

Police said that they have started a search operation to nab the other accused involved in the racket.

According to a report in the Times of India, on Monday night, police laid a trap on the basis of tip-off and sent a fake customer to Sairaj Lodging and Boarding, where the alleged racket was being operated.

The raiding team followed the policeman posing as a customer, who reached the lodge and rescued the woman.

The arrested accused include two agents, a lodge manager, a cashier and two waiters. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 376 (2), 370 (2) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The four rescued women have been sent to a correctional home. Local residents have questioned the police that they had not taken any action earlier when the sex racket was run in the middle of the city.
