Protestors Belonging To Karnataka Congress March Against The Arrest Of D.K Shivakumar

Mumbai: Masses of Karnataka belonging to different districts of the state protested against the arrest of the Karnataka politics stalwart D.K Shivakumar. As the protests proceeded, the protestors gathered at the National College ground and marched to Freedom Park, thus bringing several parts of the Bengaluru city to a standstill.

On Wednesday morning various Congress workers and protestors from Vokkaliga organizations reached Bengaluru city. The Bengaluru traffic police have issued an advisory and made traffic diversions for the commuters. The workers and protestors joined the demonstrations with posters in their hands.

Shivakumar was arrested in a money laundering case on September 3rd. after some time of his arrest, Shivakumar took to his twitter to express gratitude towards his supporters. He tweeted, “I wholeheartedly thank leaders, supporters, well-wishers and friends who have organised a massive protest in my support tomorrow in Bengaluru. I humbly request that the protest be peaceful & doesn’t cause any inconvenience to citizens. Please ensure the public property isn’t harmed.”

Congress called a total bandh in Karnataka a day after the arrest, this bandh affected schools, colleges and several businesses. Shops and business establishments were closed. The Bandh was called by the Congress and its alliance partner in the previous coalition government. The JD(S).
