Puducherry Reports 30 New COVID19 Cases, Tally Reaches 37,339

Mumbai: Puducherry on Wednesday registered 30 new cases of coronavirus, totaling 37,339, a top official in the Department of Health and Family Welfare said.

The toll remained 615 as no fresh deaths were reported.

Director of Health and Family Welfare Department S Mohan Kumar said in a release that no new fatalities have been reported in any of the four regions of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam.

He said that 46 patients were recovered and discharged during the last 24 hours.

The mortality and recovery rates were 1.45 percent and 97.36 percent respectively.

So far, 4.25 lakh samples were tested and out of them, 3.84 lakh turned out to be negative.

Puducherry region accounts for 11 out of a total of 30 new cases after Karaikal 9 and Mahe 10.

Yanam did not report any new case, the Director said.

Of the total 37,339 COVID-19 cases there were 370 active cases, 36,354 patients recovered and were discharged so far.
