Puducherry Reports 65 New COVID19 Cases, Overall Tally Surpassed 1000

Mumbai: The Health Department said that Puducherry reported 65 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, taking the overall tally past the 1,000 mark.

According to a medical bulletin from the Department of Health and Family Welfare, 62 out of 63 patients were admitted to government hospitals here, while a fresh case was reported on the outskirts of Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam during the last 24 hours. 

The total number of cases of coronavirus, excluding two patients from Puducherry, was 1,009 during treatment at Villupuram in neighboring Tamil Nadu.

While the total number of active cases was 515, the number of patients treated and discharged was 480.

There were no deaths in the union territory in the last few days, as the death toll was 14.

After recovering in Puducherry, 20 patients were discharged.

The bulletin said that 65 new cases were identified at the end of the testing of 502 samples.

While eleven of the fresh cases were under 18, 46 patients were aged between 18 and 60 and the rest were above 60.
