Punjab Govt Declared Three Days Holiday On Kartarpur Corridor Inauguration Day

Mumbai: A day before one of the biggest event the inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Punjab government has declared a holiday for three districts on November 9.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the state-of-the-art Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) complex in Kartarpur Corridor of Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district of Punjab on Saturday.

The Chief Minister of Punjab has declared a holiday on 9 November in Gurdaspur, Kapurthala and Amritsar districts.

The decision was announced by Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh’s office on Thursday.

Guru Nanak was the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. He was born in Punjab (modern-day Pakistan) and gave spiritual education based on the universal divinity of creation.

Recently, India and Pakistan signed an agreement on the modalities of operation of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor on 24 October, paving the way for its inauguration before the 550th birth anniversary of the Sikh Guru.
