Punjab Cong MP Gets Call Threatening ‘Same Fate As Moosewala’, Security Increased
Mumbai: Punjab Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu on Tuesday received a call on WhatsApp, saying he would meet the “same fate” as his late party colleague and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
The threatening phone call was confirmed by personal security staff of Congress Lok Sabha MP from Ludhiana, Bittu.
Moose Wala was shot dead by eight sharpshooters in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi had met Musa Vala’s family members earlier in the day.
Moose Wala was killed a day after the Bhagwant Mann government in Punjab curtailed his security cover.
Apart from Bittu, Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his father and screenwriter Salim Khan received a letter on Sunday which said, “Salim Khan, Salman Khan Bahot Jald Aapka Moose Wala Hoga G.B L.B” (Salim Khan, Salman Khan very soon you will meet the fate of Moose Wala.)”
A day after receiving the letter, Mumbai Police recorded Salim Khan’s statement. Police officials also visited Salman Khan’s residence in suburban Bandra and tightened security around the building.
There is speculation that the words “GB” and “LB” in the threat letter may refer to Lawrence Bishnoi, the main accused in the murders of Goldie Brar and Moosa Vala.
Bishnoi has denied his involvement in the threat letter sent to Salman Khan.
