Punjab Government Issues Notification Of 4 PC Reservation To Persons Disabilities In Promotions, Government Jobs
Mumbai: In a recent development, the Punjab government led by Captain Amarinder Singh has issued notifications regarding reservation of three percent to four percent for physically challenged persons for promotion and direct recruitment in government departments.
The notification has been issued under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. As per Article 34 of the said Act, the reservation will be given for ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ categories for promotion. And direct recruitment, a government spokesperson said on Friday.
“The persons suffering from blindness and low vision, deaf, having locomotors disabilities including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy will be given one percent reservation each,” the spokesman said.
In addition, those who suffer from autism, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities, and mental illness will be given a one percent reservation under Clause A to D with the same reservation as one percent for many disabilities.
