Quite Refreshing To Know That Virat Kohli Is A Human: Jos Buttler

Mumbai: Team England won the second ODI against India at Lord’s and played one more game to level the series at 1–1. England pacer Reece Topley was excellent with the ball as he took a total of six wickets as the Men in Blue failed to chase down 247 runs in their allotted 50 overs.

Many Indian batsmen including former India captain Virat Kohli did not manage to convert their starts into big scores as the England bowlers were good. Kohli was eventually dismissed for 16 off 25 balls by fast bowler David Willey, which was hit for three fours. Also Read: Pakistan Captain Babar Azam’s ‘Stay Strong’ Tweet For Virat Kohli Goes Viral

“I think it is quite refreshing for the rest of us that he (Kohli) is a human being and he may have some low points, but look, he has been one of the best, if not the best in ODI cricket in the world. So, he’s been a fantastic player for so many years, and all batters, it just proves, go through runs of the form where they don’t perform as well as they can do sometimes,” Buttler said during a press conference. Also Read: Reece Topley Records Best-Ever Bowling Figures By An England Bowler In Men’s ODI History

“But of course, as an opposition captain, you know a player in that class is always due, so you’re hoping it doesn’t come against us. Yeah, incredibly surprised, as I said, his record speaks for himself. The matches he’s won for India and yeah, why would you question that,” he added.

To note, Kohli has not been named in the ODI and T20I squad which is slated to visit West Indies later this month.

Meanwhile, Team India will take on England in the third and final ODI match of the series to be played in Manchester on July 17 (Sunday).

Kohli will be hoping to score some crucial runs for his team and help his team to clinch the series.
