‘Racism’ Is The Most Burning Issue At The Moment: Sayani Gupta

Mumbai: After gaining immense love and success for her role in Four More Shots Season 2, actress Sayani Gupta will be seen in an important role in the film Axone. It is a comedy film, where Delhi immigrants try to organize a wedding party, but they soon learn that something is wrong.

In this film, Sayani plays a 23-year-old Nepali girl, who has been appreciated by many film audiences across the world. Its premier BFI was performed at the Mami Film Festival in London and Mumbai, besides the film also took part in several film festivals in the US and Europe. The film also received a standing ovation at the Mami Film Festival, in which Sayani maintained a good grip on Nepali accents and dialect, which was very attractive and captivating, due to which the film’s people loved it.

With several successful such as Fan, Jolly LLB 2, Margarita with a Straw, Article 15 as well as Four More More Shots seasons 1 and 2, Inside Age seasons 1 and 2 Sayani has always gone on to play challenging characters and has won the hearts of her fans with her performance.

Actress Sayani Gupta believes that “There are really no films in mainstream cinema that represent Northeast cinema, especially racism that they have faced in the past, Racism is the most burning issue at the moment, especially in Corona’s disaster that the problem of racism has also emerged out of Northeastern. This is a one and a half hour metal coaster ride where you really get to know that we know a lot about hunting people in India. Last year, the trailer of this film went viral as soon as it was released and we have received so many messages on social media since last year when and where they can watch this film. We did not make an announcement about this film, but people got information about it from Netflix’s release list and this thing spread like fire. I hope that people will see and like this film, to be honest, I am very nervous.” 

Following a successful world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, the film was screened at the prestigious Jio MAMI Festival 2019. Axone received an amazing response from the audience present at various screenings. The film will now be released on Netflix on June 12, 2020
