Rahul Briefly Held Back While Leaving Lucknow Airport; Confronts Security Staff

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi & Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were granted permission to visit Lakhimpur Kheri earlier today

Mumbai: Ahead of the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visit to the Lakhimpur district, he was seen asking the Police Official at Lucknow Airport why were they not allowing him to travel on his own terms.

“Under which rule are you deciding how I’ll go? Just tell me the rule,” Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asked police officials at Lucknow airport.

Talking to the media present at the airport, he said, “We want to go in our car (to Lakhimpur Kheri) but they (police) want to take us in their vehicle. I asked them to let me go in my personal vehicle. They’re planning something. I’m sitting here.”

In a video shared by ANI, Gandhi can be seen pointing to a cordon of security personnel who he claimed are barring his way out of the airport.

Rahul Gandhi is been accompanied by Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi & Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were granted permission to visit Lakhimpur Kheri earlier in the day.

Gandhi is leading a Congress delegation to violence-hit Lakhimpur Kheri, as the political commotion continues in UP.
