Rahul Gandhi Slams Centre, Calls Modi’s Budget ‘Crony Centric’

Mumbai: Continuing his stand against the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday called the Union Budget slogan as ‘crony centric’.

He said there was nothing in the budget to improve the conditions of the troops facing the Chinese invasion of the border.

Taking to Twitter, the former Congress president said: “Modi’s crony centric budget means – Jawans facing Chinese aggression in extreme conditions will get no support. India’s defenders betrayed.”

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2021-22 in Parliament on 1 February. According to Budget 2021, the Center increased the defence budget by a slight increase of about 1.4 per cent to Rs 4.78 lakh crore for 2021-22 from the previous year’s allocation of Rs 4.71 Lakh Crore.

On Thursday, the Wayanad MP said that micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were not given any low-interest loans or GST relief, which meant that employers of India’s largest workforce were ” betrayed “.
