Raj Has Loudspeaker Issue Now As Brother Uddhav Is Maha CM: Raut

Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Thursday claimed that MNS chief Raj Thackeray never had any issue over loudspeakers before, but “he has this issue now because his brother (Uddhav Thackeray) is the CM of Maharashtra.”

Questioning the intention of the MNS chief, Raut asked why the issue was not raised when Vilasrao Deshmukh or Prithviraj Chavan or Devendra Fadnavis were in power in Maharashtra. He accused Raj Thackeray of doing politics.

“There is politics over loudspeakers everywhere and some old clips of Balasaheb on his views about loudspeakers in mosques are being shared. Why this issue was never raised for 50 years when Vilasrao Deshmukh, Prithviraj Chavan and Devendra Fadnavis were CM?” said Raut while addressing a rally in the Hadapsar area of Pune on Thursday, reported news agency ANI.

Further addressing the crowd, the Shiv Sena leader accused Raj Thackeray of jealousy and said, “He (MNS chief Raj Thackeray) had no problem with loudspeakers during this time, but now he has a problem because of his brother (Uddhav Thackeray). “

Raj Thackeray on Wednesday released an old video of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray on his Twitter handle, in which he is seen opposing the use of loudspeakers at religious places and Muslims offering Namaz on the streets.

In the video, Bal Thackeray was heard saying, “We (Shiv Sena) will not stop until we are successful in stopping people from offering namaz on the streets while forming the government in Maharashtra.”

The loudspeaker controversy became an MNS vs Shiv Sena issue soon after Raj Thackeray posted a video of Balasaheb, indicating that he is the ideological successor of his uncle and Shiv Sena founder.

On 12 April, Raj Thackeray threatened the Uddhav Thackeray government in Maharashtra to remove loudspeakers from mosques by May 3, failing which he would play Hanuman Chalisa outside mosques.

The MNS chief has resolved to continue his campaign against loudspeakers at mosques and other religious places.
