Raj Kundra, Accomplice Sent To Police Custody Till July 23 In Porn Videos Case

Mumbai: Actress Shilpa Shetty’s businessman-husband Raj Kundra and his aide Ryan Tharp have been sent to police custody till July 23.

Kundra was arrested yesterday while Tharp was arrested today in connection with a case relating to the production of pornographic films and publishing them through mobile applications.

Mumbai Police has sought the custody of Kundra, named as the main conspirator in the racket, saying he has received a huge amount. Kundra’s phone has also been seized and some of his electronic devices are in the custody of the asset cell, which has sent him for forensics. Apart from this, foreign currency has also been confiscated from the businessman.

Mumbai Police told the court that it would be impossible to proceed with the investigation without Kundra’s custody.

Even when Kundra’s lawyer informed the court that his client had already sold his company to a person named Pradeep Bakshi for $25,000, the asset cell said the businessman was still in the WhatsApp group was active and participated in the day to day transactions, including script ideas.

Kundra’s lawyer Kaushal said: “Both the accused have been produced in court. Both have been remanded to police custody till July 23. There is no solid evidence, more is not clear. The police have it. To suggest There is no material for. That any offer was made. It contains pornographic material.”

Kundra (45), was arrested by the Crime Branch on Monday after being booked under relevant sections of the IPC and the Information Technology Act. An FIR was registered against Kundra after a woman approached the police and made certain allegations in her complaint.
