Rajasthan: BJP To Move No Confidence Motion Against Congress Govt

Mumbai: It seems the political crisis in Rajasthan has come to an end after Congress leader Sachin Pilot was back in the party but a disgruntled Bharatiya Janata Party is relentless in its efforts to topple the existing establishment.

Leader of the Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria said on Thursday that the BJP will bring a no-confidence motion against the Ashok Gehlot government of Congress in the Rajasthan Assembly tomorrow.

This decision was taken during the BJP Legislature Party meeting in Jaipur today.

Kataria told media persons that the proposal would be brought during the assembly session starting on Friday.

The opposition party’s decision was seen as a “cordial resolution” a day after the month-long political crisis in Rajasthan.

Congress leader Sachin Pilot, who was the deputy chief minister and state Congress chief, revolted against Chief Minister Gehlot in July along with 18 MLAs of his party. He was then dismissed from both his posts by the party high command.

The Congress announced on Monday that the crisis in Rajasthan was a “closed chapter” and that all legislators supporting the government would continue to work to strengthen the government and fight COVID-19 and the economic crisis.

The Congress on Thursday also revoked the suspension of two MLAs in the state whose party membership was suspended during the political crisis.
