Rajasthan Crisis: HC Makes Centre Party In Plea By Sachin Pilot, MLAs

Mumbai: In a recent development, Rajasthan High Court has made a Centre party in the petition filed against the Congress against the disqualification notice of Sachin Pilot and other MLAs.

ANI quoted Prateek Kasliwal, lawyer of Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi, “The Rajasthan High Court has made the Center party in the petition filed by the MLAs against the Congress against Sachin Pilot and the disqualification notice. The Additional Solicitor General (ASG) will represent the Center in the court.

Earlier, the Rajasthan High Court asked Assembly Speaker CP Joshi to adjourn the proceedings pending before him on the disqualification notice issued to Pilot and the 18 MLAs of his faction and give a verdict on the case till July 24.

The Assembly Speaker had earlier sent notices to Pilot and 18 MLAs under the anti-defection law after an application by Chief Whip to be disqualified. The MLAs were earlier asked to appear before the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly on 17 July, but this was deferred in view of the hearing before the High Court.

The development was also revealed when the Rajasthan Congress was in a tizzy after differences emerged between Pilot and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
