Rani Mukerji Honoured With ‘Most Influential Cinema Personality’

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji recently awarded with ‘Most Influential Cinema Personality’ in South-East Asia for her phenomenal work in 2018 flick ‘Hichki’.

Time and again he has proved his role as an actor with some of the biggest blockbusters as well as the most favourite films of our generation. ‘Hiccup’ had earned Rs 250 crore worldwide.

“It’s really humbling for me to be called the most influential cinema personality. As an actor, I have been fortunate to have found films that inspired me and everyone who saw them on screen. Some of them Interacted and influenced society as well. Changes. I have a special liking for films that leave an impact on people’s hearts and minds and makes us think about the world in which we live, “said Rani, who is in Singapore.

“I think it is my responsibility to give a voice to what is happening around me. Hiccup was such a film and it was a message resonating with audiences, students, teachers around the world and most importantly. Is that it was a huge validation with those fighting Torrent syndrome. A universal story for all of us will surely be appreciated anywhere in the world,” she added.

Directed by Sidharth Malhotra and produced by Maneesh Sharma under the banner Yash Raj Films film Hichki is an Indian adaptation of Brad Cohen’s autobiography Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had.

Hichki is Mukerji’s first film released after a four-year hiatus and emerged as a “Blockbuster” at the box office.

Produced on a limited budget of ₹12 crores (US$1.7 million), the film grossed ₹239 crores (US$35 million) worldwide, the majority of which came from China.

In 2019, Mukerji will star in Mardaani 2, a sequel to Mardaani, directed by Gopi Puthran, who wrote the first film
