Mumbai : After discussions with him on the phone in the Colombo Page reported on Friday, President Matrimada Sirisena has agreed to announce Vikramasinghe as Prime Minister.
Wikramesinghe’s United National Party (UNP) said during the meeting it was decided that he will be sworn in as Prime Minister at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
A day before Former PM’s son Namal confirmed on twitter saying former president would step down as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.
To ensure stability of the nation, Former President @PresRajapaksa has decided to resign from the Premiership tomorrow after an address to the nation. The SLPP with Frm President, SLFP & others will now work to form a broader political coalition with President Sirisena.

The report further added that on Monday a new cabinet will be sworn. There will be 30 members in the cabinet and six members of the Sri Lanka Independence Party (SLFP) will join the Parliament.
The Supreme Court’s decision on Friday was unanimously announced after one day that the dissolution of Parliament by President Sirisena was “illegal”.
