Recommend Names Of Doctors, Health Workers For Padma Awards: Delhi CM

Mumbai: Delhi government has decided to send the names of doctors and healthcare workers for this year’s Padma Awards, said CM Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday.

During a press briefing, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “The Delhi government has decided to send the names of doctors and health workers for this year’s Padma awards. We want to tell them that we are grateful to them.”

“The public will tell us these names. People can send their emails to padmaawards.delhi@gmail.com by August 15,” he said.

He further confirmed that a screening committee has been constituted which will scrutinize the names in the next 15 days and recommend the names to the Delhi government. After this, the final names will be sent to the central government.

Yesterday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi announced a relief of Rs 5,000 to around 50,000 construction workers who had lost their livelihood during the peak of the pandemic.

The Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board have been directed to disburse the relief amount to workers whose applications were approved between May 28 and July 18, an official statement said.
