Respect PM Modi’s Ideas: Putin On PM’s ‘Not An Era Of War’ Remark
Mumbai: Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed gratitude toward Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to promote peace amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, which has persisted for nearly three years.
During a recent event, Putin highlighted Modi’s earlier remarks that “this should not be an era of war” and acknowledged the Indian leader’s repeated expressions of concern and suggestions for conflict resolution.
“As for solving the most acute crisis, we are very thankful and have great respect for the ideas of His Excellency Prime Minister Modi,” Putin said, recognizing India’s constructive stance. He also noted that Modi has consistently voiced concerns about the humanitarian impact of the conflict and proposed strategies to ease tensions.
This expression of appreciation comes as India and Russia continue to share a historically strong relationship. Putin noted, “We have thought about those ideas and are thankful for his intervention,” adding that Modi’s suggestions have been carefully considered.
Earlier, Putin had invited PM Modi to the BRICS Summit in Kazan, where the Russia-Ukraine conflict was a key topic of discussion. Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to peace and stability, emphasizing that “all our efforts give priority to humanity,” and offered India’s support for a peaceful resolution.
India’s neutral stance and commitment to diplomacy and humanity underscore its role as a significant peace advocate on the global stage. Modi assured Putin that India remains ready to cooperate fully in efforts to bring peace and stability to the region.
