Rishabh Pant’s Fearless Mentality Sets Him Apart: Jos Buttler
Mumbai: England white-ball captain Jos Buttler said there are many “stroke players” in the world but India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is a “fearless player”.
In the post-match press conference, Buttler decodes what separates Rishabh Pant from the others.
“Rishabh is a brilliant player. Again if you give him a chance, he will pay you for it. There are many stroke players around the world, but Rishabh is a very fearless player,” Buttler told reporters.
“He’s great to watch. He’s great to play in all formats. He’s an exciting player to watch. Maybe it’s his mindset that sets him apart.
“He is an extraordinary talent, but he is also a fearless cricketer. He seems to be getting a lot of support to play the way he wants to play.”
Rishabh Pant’s 125 not out off 113 balls and Hardik Pandya’s all-round heroics carried India to a five-wicket win in the series decider ODI against England on Sunday.
The visitors claimed the three-match rubber 2-1.
