Rohit Sharma Mocks Proposal Of 4-day Test matches

Mumbai: International Cricket Council (ICC) recently make up with the ide of making mandatory four-day Test matches from the 2023 cricket. But it seems that the idea won’t work as may players have disapproved the ICC’s initiative.

The governing body of cricket wants to reduce the number of days from five to four to make room for more ICC events, which are more popular and financially viable for them and to bring in more and more spectators for Test matches for. The day-night test is in its infancy and is slowly becoming popular with Team India and eventually embracing the idea as well.

Reacting to the recent approach by Indian opener and white ball vice-captain Rohit Sharma had a better response when asked about this four-day Test idea.

He said, “If it is four days, then it is not a Test match. Four days means a first-class match. It is as simple as that, ”Rohit told The Hindustan Times. Sharma is on a break from cricket after playing non-stop for almost 2 years and was rested for the Sri Lanka series.

“According to me, there should be no change in this. I don’t believe so, ”Kohli said in a press conference against Sri Lanka earlier in Guwahati on the eve of the first T20I.

As far as the Indian cricketers’ idea of ​​four-day Test matches is concerned, only Irfan Pathan has supported the initiative; While Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, and many have disapproved of the four-day Test, which they feel is tampering with one of the purest forms of the game and feel that they are for it are doing.
