INDVsBAN: Rohit Sharma’s Brilliant Knock Help India To Level The Series For 1-1

Mumbai: Rohit Sharma, jeez what a player he is across all formats. He made 85 in just 43 balls which included 6 sixes and 6 fours. His opening stand with Shikhar was of 118 runs, this is the 4th 100 run partnership between Shikhar and Rohit in T20I’s.

India won the toss in this crunch game and decided to bowl first. Both the teams were unchanged. Chahal started superly with the stumping of Liton Das but poor wicket-keeping from Pant led to the ball being called no-ball as he collected the ball ahead of the stumps. But later he was running out by Rishabh. Sundar and Chahar where again good as the didn’t allow Bangladeshi batsman to settle. Top scorer for Bangladesh was Naim as he made 36 off 31 balls and top bowler for India was again Chahal as he picked two important wickets of Mushfiqur and Soumya. Bangladesh ended their 20 overs at just 153 for 6.

Venue changed, the game changed but the fortunes for Khaleel Ahmed didn’t as in the last match he got hit for 4 consecutive boundaries this time he started poorly as his first three balls were again hit the boundaries. To prove himself, Rohit again backed him and gave last over to him but again he failed. In his spell, he constantly tried to bowl short deliveries which were deposited to boundaries and when he tried to bowl full, he choked the batsman that’s where he needs to work, with his line and lengths.

Rohit started brilliantly. In his 100th T20I, the batsman put on a stellar show, with a brilliant 85 that was filled with sublime strokes, quite typical for him. He reached his fifty off just 23 deliveries – leveling his record for the second-fastest in T20Is, going after Bangladesh’s bowlers right from the onset. India had raced away to 113 at the halfway stage, as Rohit in particular, had taken the game away from India, whilst dealing in boundaries. The match was ended by the firepower of Shreyas Iyer as he made quickfire 24 off 13 balls which included 1 six and 3 fours.

India won the match by 8 wickets and 26 balls to spare. Rohit Sharma was a man of the match for his brilliant knock. Series decider I.e, 3rd and final T20 match of this series is to be played on Sunday, Nov 10 at VCA, Nagpur.
