CBI arrested Mamata Banerjee's close aide Shrikant Mohta
Mumbai : In an shocking incident Bengal filmmaker and distributor Shrikant Mohta has been arrested by CBI official yesterday, for his involvement in multi-crore Rose valley chit fund scam said ANI news agency.
According to CBI official, Mohta has close connections with Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and during the investigation it was found that case was related to the sale of Banerjee’s paintings where Mohta alleged involvement in the Sarada and Rose Valley Chit Fund scam.
Later on a notice was sent to Mohta by the officials, we’re he was questioned him regarding the matter said officials. Despite of several notice Mohta failed to turn up for interrogation due to which CBI official reached his office itself in South Kolkata, where after he was took to the CBI headquarters.
Mohta was allegedly taken Rs 25 crore from Rose Valley chairman Gautam Kundu who is currently in jail in a money laundering case. After interrogation he Mohta was arrested by CBI officials.
The Rose Valley financial scandal or simply Rose Valley Chit Fund Scam was a major financial scam and alleged political scandal in India caused by the collapse of a Ponzi scheme run by Rose Valley Group.
