RP Singh’s Father Passes Away Due To COVID19

Mumbai: Shiv Prasad Singh, father of former Team India fast bowler Rudra Pratap Singh, died on Wednesday. Singh’s father sadly lost his battle with the novel coronavirus. Making a heartfelt comment on social media, Team India’s former fast trader shared the sad news with his fans and followers.

Singh, who is an integral part of the Cricket Advisory Committee, had to leave the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 bio bubble in April as his father contracted the deadly COVID-19 virus in April.

The retired cricketer was part of the commentators’ bio-secure bubble for the 14th season of the Indian Premier League.

On Wednesday, the former Indian pacer informed the passing away of his late father. “It is with deepest grief and sadness we inform the passing away of my father, Mr Shiv Prasad Singh. He left for his heavenly abode on 12th May after suffering from Covid. We request you to keep my beloved father in your thoughts and prayers. RIP Papa,” RP Singh said in a tweet.

Earlier, veteran spinner Piyush Chawla’s father Pramod Kumar Chawla also left for the heavenly abode after battling COVID-19. Piyush’s late father was around 60 years old
