Rs 1.7 lakh Crore Relief Package For Poor Annouced By FM Nirmala Sitharaman

Mumbai: In a recent development, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced a relief package for poor and migrant workers amid a 21-day nationwide lockout to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.

For the beneficiaries of Mahila Ujjwala Yojana, 8.3 crore BPL families will be given free cylinders for three months.

Under Deen Dayal National Livelihood Mission, women self-help groups (SHGs) will be provided collateral-free loans ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. It will affect 7 crore holders through 63 lakh SHGs.
