Rupee Gains 8 Paise To 69.63 VS Dollar In Early Trading

Mumbai: The rupee today raise by 8 paise to close at 69.63 against the US dollar in early trade and opened at a higher level in foreign exchange flows and home equity markets.

In the Interbank Forex market, the rupee opened at Rs 69.71 and then proceeded further, touching 69.63 and earning 8 paise

The rupee was 18 paise against the US dollar, closing at 69.71 level on Tuesday.

Forex dealers said the positive opening of the sale of the American currency by the exporters and the domestic equity supported the rupee. In addition, fresh foreign fund inflows also boosted the pace.

Meanwhile, foreign investors (FIIs) remained net buyers in the capital markets, according to provisional figures, on Tuesday, they made a net investment of Rs 2,477 crore.

Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures rose 0.27 per cent to reach $ 66.85 a barrel.

Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex was trading 78.22 points or 0.21 per cent higher at 37,613.88, while NSE was trading at 11,319.70, which was 18.50 points or 0.16 per cent higher.
