Russia Has Launched Full-Scale Invasion Of Ukraine, Declared War On Record: Ukraine

Mumbai: “Russia has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine,” Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said. Ballistic missile attacks were also launched in a number of Ukrainian cities this morning. Big explosions were heard in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and other areas of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, during the emergency UN Security Council meeting, a Ukrainian representative said, “Russian President Vladimir Putin on record declared war.”

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had said that Moscow would conduct military operations in eastern Ukraine.

In a televised address, Putin called on the Ukrainian military to surrender. He said that this action has been taken in response to threats coming from Ukraine. Putin said Russia has no goal of occupying Ukraine.

He said that the government of Ukraine is responsible for the bloodshed. Putin warned other countries that any attempt to interfere with Russian action would have consequences he had never seen before. He accused the US and its allies of ignoring Russia’s demands to stop Ukraine from joining NATO.

US President Joe Biden condemned Russia’s attack on Ukraine and vowed that the world would hold Russia and President Vladimir Putin accountable. Biden said President Putin has chosen a pre-planned war that would bring devastating loss of life and human suffering.

Biden said he would address the nation today and announce that the US would take additional steps beyond the sanctions already imposed.
