Salman Accompanied By 50-70 Security Personnel, Including NSG Commandos: Reports
Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has resumed filming his upcoming action-drama Sikandar in Hyderabad under intense security arrangements, following threats from imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The production team has taken extraordinary steps to ensure the actor’s safety during this critical month-long shoot, transforming a palace hotel location into a secured site with rigorous security protocols.
According to a report from Mid-day, the hotel where Khan is filming has been turned into a “fortress,” with security personnel controlling access. “There are three standing sets, two within the city, but the main location is the palace hotel,” revealed a source close to the production. “Only guests with prior permission can enter the premises after going through dual screenings—one by the hotel and another by Salman’s security team. The staff undergoes daily checks, and a strict no-swapping policy is enforced,” the source explained.
Khan’s security is a multi-layered operation involving government and private security personnel. With a Y-category security detail, Khan is accompanied by 50-70 security staff, including NSG commandos, local police, and private security guards. His protection includes a team of ex-paramilitary personnel, as well as a unit organized by his long-time bodyguard, Shera. Local Hyderabad and Mumbai police officers also provide additional layers of protection.
The current Hyderabad schedule is crucial for Sikandar, as it includes the filming of two elaborate song sequences featuring Khan and co-star Rashmika Mandanna, designed to capture the film’s grandeur and chemistry between the leads.
The heightened security follows threats related to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, in which Khan was accused. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who issued threats against Khan, reportedly did so as part of a vow to avenge the blackbuck incident, a sacred symbol for Bishnoi’s community. In response, Mumbai Police has bolstered security around Khan’s residence and public events, while the government has provided him with Y-category protection, including armed guards for his safety.
With the high-stakes nature of the Sikandar shoot and ongoing security concerns, the production team has left no stone unturned in ensuring the safety and well-being of the entire crew.
