Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ Leaked Hours Before Release, Makers Pull It Down From 600 Sites

Mumbai: In a major setback for the highly anticipated film Sikandar, starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, the movie was reportedly leaked online just hours before its theatrical release. The incident, which unfolded on Saturday evening, led to a swift response from the makers, who worked diligently to remove unauthorized copies from nearly 600 malicious websites.

Trade analyst Komal Nahta took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to condemn the act, describing it as a producer’s worst nightmare. “A film being leaked before its theatrical release is devastating. Unfortunately, that’s what happened last evening to Sajid Nadiadwala’s Sikandar, slated to release today in cinemas,” Nahta posted.

He further added, “The producer had the authorities pull the film down from 600 sites last night, but the damage had been done. The multiplication continued and is continuing. A condemnable act that could cost the producer dearly.”

Neither Salman Khan nor the film’s production team has issued an official statement on the matter yet. However, fans of the Bollywood superstar have rallied together to minimize the impact of the leak. Many have urged netizens not to share pirated versions of the film, while others have taken the initiative to report leaked clips and stills circulating on social media platforms, including YouTube.

Sikandar marks Salman Khan’s return to the silver screen after a hiatus of 1.5 years and is particularly significant as it marks his first-ever collaboration with Ghajini director AR Murugadoss. The film’s production faced multiple challenges, including security threats to Khan, yet the team persevered to bring the action-packed entertainer to audiences as an Eid gift, with its theatrical release set for March 30.
