Sam D’souza Arrived At Mumbai Police SIT, Claims KP Gosavi Extorted Rs.50 Lakhs

D’Souza asserted that he saved Dadlani from getting duped by Gosavi and others and has nothing to do with money

Mumbai: Sam D’Souza, who allegedly acted as a middleman between Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani and KP Gosavi, a witness in the cruise drug case on Monday claimed that Gosavi approached him on the pretext of shielding the Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who is an accused in the case.

A special investigation team (SIT) of the Mumbai Police probing the alleged extortion nexus in the Cordelia cruise drugs bust case recorded the statement of Sam D’Souza. D’Souza arrived at the SIT’s office in the Maharashtra capital at around 12.45 pm.

D’Souza stated that he arranged a meeting between the Bollywood superstar’s manager Pooja Dadlani and Gosavi who had sought his help in getting the actor’s son out of the case. He claimed that he later learnt that Gosavi had extorted Rs 50 lakh from Dadlani, following which he asked him to return the money.

D’Souza asserted that he saved Dadlani from getting duped by Gosavi and others, as he helped in getting the money returned. He further said that he has nothing to do with the extortion money in the case.

Aryan Khan was detained by the NCB during a raid led by Sameer Wankhede on a Goa-bound luxury cruise Cordelia ship on October 3. Later, Aryan Khan got bail from Bombay High Court on October 28 after 25 days of staying in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail.

NCB’s Independent witness Prabhakar Sail had alleged that he had overheard a phone conversation about a demand of Rs 25 crore to release Aryan Khan. The explosive extortion allegations sparked a massive controversy, prompting the NCB to order an inquiry. The NCB vigilance team, probing the extortion allegations, has already taken D’Souza’s statement.
