Sanjay Raut Criticise Z Plus Security Provided To Sammer Wankhede After Exortion Allegations

Sameer Wankhede has been provided Z+ security after he received death threats based on the allegations against him

Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP & Leader Sanjay Raut has lashed out at the centre on providing Z+ security to Sameer Wankhede following the allegations of extortion on him and said that the people who defame the Maharashtra government are provided security by the centre.

“An inquiry has to be done. It’s not as if an inquiry is not done if someone has Z plus security. Those who point fingers at the Maharashtra govt & does crooked work here are felicitated with Z plus security. You would’ve seen that they’re given Z plus security,” Sanjay said while talking to the media.

A team led by ACP Milind Khetale of Mumbai Police is to investigate the allegations levelled against NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede. 4 separate complaints have been lodged against the NCB officer on various counts.

Raut further attacked the centre saying that if they so many security forces to spare they must be used for national security in Kasmir or Arunachal, adding that Maharashtra is a safe state.

“I won’t point fingers at anyone but Maharashtra is a safe state. Everyone here is safe. It seems the Centre has a lot of security forces to spare if people are given security like this. They should send them (forces) to Kashmir, Arunachal instead,” Raut said.

Sameer Wankhede has been provided Z+ security after he received death threats based on the allegations against him. There are 22 security personnel deployed in Z grade security. It consists of four to five NSG commandos. Additional protection is provided by the state government or the CRPF.

Commandos in this category are equipped with submachine guns and sophisticated communication equipment. In addition, these commandos are equipped with martial arts and unarmed combat skills.
