SC Grants Bail To Actor Ragini Dwivedi In Sandalwood Drugs Case
Mumbai: The Supreme Court on Thursday granted bail to Kannada film actor Ragini Dwivedi for alleged involvement in the Chandan case.
Ragini filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP), which challenged the Karnataka High Court order on 3 November last year and granted relief.
She was arrested by the Bangalore-based Central Crime Branch (CCB) on September 4 last year on charges of belonging to an international drug peddling racket involving customers in psychedelic drugs at parties and other events.
Ragini has been booked under the provisions of the NDPS (Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Act for alleged involvement in the drugs case.
Ragini had claimed that she was falsely implicated by the prosecution for allegedly drawing public attention. She claimed that She was made an accused and remained in jail even after 100 days, even though there has been no recovery of any drugs from her.
