Screening And COVID-19 Test To Cover All Households Within The Next 90 Days: Andra Pradesh CM

Mumbai: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed officials to conduct a comprehensive screening and COVID-19 test to cover all households within the next 90 days. He said that exercise should be done using 104 ambulances and urban health clinics.

During the review meeting related to the spread of COVID-19 status held on Monday yesterday, the Chief Minister asked the officials to ensure screening of every family in the state within the given time and take samples wherever necessary.

He said that to solve the problems of people suffering from diabetes, blood pressure, and other chronic diseases, he said that 104 ambulances should have adequate equipment and medicines.

“For urban areas, a different strategy should be adopted, and urban health clinics should be planned and fully equipped with medical staff,” Reddy said.

Officials said that more than 24,000 tests were being conducted per day so far. Officials said, “This test is given to people over the age of 60 and those over the age of 40 who suffer from chronic diseases. The mortality rate is on the slide.”

“Preference is being given to those living in priority areas and high-risk areas. The tests are conducted randomly in industrial, commercial centers, temples, market yards, and other categories.”

“Awareness should be created and the stigma factor among the people at the grassroots level should be removed and a local protocol should be formulated. Hoardings should be erected to this effect. One 104 vehicles should be available per Mandal and the team should carry with it ANMs, Asha workers, and village volunteers.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh said that in case of any doubt on the corona, the procedure and details should be displayed in all the Village Secretariat.
