Second Wave Of COVID-19 Under Control In Maharashtra, Says Uddhav Thackeray Government

Mumbai: Amid the magnitude of the pandemic, the Maharashtra government on Wednesday informed that the second wave of COVID-19 is under control in the state.

According to an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, the Nandurbar district of Maharashtra recorded zero active cases of COVID-19 today and districts like Dhule, Washim, Yavatmal, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia have fewer than 10 active cases.

Districts namely Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, Amravati, Akola, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli have less than 100 active cases currently.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray also expressed concern about various political gatherings by parties in the state on Wednesday. During the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister appealed that all parties should avoid any kind of political gathering to avoid overcrowding.

A statement issued from the Chief Minister’s Office after the cabinet meeting said that the second wave of Covid-19 infection has come under control in the state and this has been possible due to the cooperation of the citizens and various measures taken by the government. State Health Department.

The CMO has also been told that the average weekly positivity rate of the state has come down to 2.44 per cent in the last few days. The growth rate in Ratnagiri and Kolhapur districts was worrying, but according to the official statement of the government, it has now come down to 2.44 per cent.

However, Satara, Sangli, Ahmednagar, Pune, Osmanabad, Solapur and Sindhudurg logged a gradual increase in the number of daily cases.
