Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday demanded a special package for Mumbai, which has become a coronovirus hotspot.
Welcoming the Rs 20 lakh crore package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Raut demanded that Mumbai would get “maximum benefit” from it. “Workers are leaving work because they have no work here.
The importance of Mumbai as the financial capital of the country should be maintained. Raut said that the Center should announce a special package for Mumbai and other cities that generate employment.
The Shiv Sena welcomed the package announced by Modi, he said.
The Rajya Sabha member said, “This is not an important time. The whole country is with the Prime Minister at this juncture.”
However, he said, “Out of the total package announced, Mumbai should get maximum benefits.
